The crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25 on I-295 southbound north of Exit 36 (Route 73) in Mount Laurel Township, according to the NJDOT.
Based on a preliminary investigation, a tow truck driver was out of the vehicle assisting a motorist when he was struck by another tow truck that failed to stop and continued traveling southbound, according to Sgt. Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police.
The operator struck did not sustain any life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital, Marchan said.
The crash remains under investigation, and there is no additional information.
One right lane and the shoulder were closed delaying traffic, 511nj.org reported.
